Danilo Kluyber

Graduated in Veterinary Medicine from Universidade Paulista (2003). Since 2010, he has served as an associate researcher at the Wildlife Conservation Institute (ICAS) and the Naples Zoo at Caribbean Gardens. He is the coordinating veterinarian for ICAS’s One Health initiative. Holds a Master’s degree in Tropical Diseases and International Health from the Institute of Tropical Medicine – University of São Paulo. Currently a PhD (Sandwich Program) candidate at MIVEGEC/IRD, University of Montpellier, France, and at the Faculty of Medicine, University of São Paulo (USP), Brazil, supported by the Fondation Mérieux, France.

Life That Persists: Fauna and Resilience

The ancestral knowledge of Indigenous peoples, quilombola communities, and other traditional groups offers concrete pathways for conserving biodiversity and restoring balance between society and nature. This panel brings together voices from the forest, academia, public institutions, and the private sector to explore how these forms of knowledge can engage in dialogue with science and innovation—strengthening sustainable management practices, preserving cultural memory, and inspiring new ways of living in harmony with the Earth.
