Gabriel Poli de Figueiredo

Gabriel Poli de Figueiredo is the Manager of Internationalization at IPT – Institute for Technological Research of the State of São Paulo. He holds a degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of São Paulo (USP) and a Master’s and PhD in Architecture and Urbanism from the same institution, where he conducted research on future urban scenarios, smart cities, and the role of technology and transdisciplinary collaboration in designing complex urban systems. He has extensive experience in coordinating international hard-tech R&D and open innovation projects between the public and private sectors, advising public policy at the federal, state, and municipal levels, and leading social sustainability and community development initiatives within the third sector.

International Hardtech Innovation Partnerships for Climate Action

This panel will bring together Brazilian and international experts to share practical experiences and innovative solutions for addressing increasingly frequent and complex natural risks. Moderated by the Institute for Technological Research (IPT), which will present the Brazilian perspective based on its work in risk management, infrastructure, and government support, the discussion will feature leading global institutions in the field. The objective is to foster knowledge exchange and the sharing of applied methodologies across contexts, deepening the understanding of effective strategies for disaster prevention, mitigation, and response—while strengthening institutional capacities and promoting global cooperative solutions.
