An officer in the São Paulo State Military Police, he currently serves as Director of the Response Division of the State Coordination for Protection and Civil Defense. Among other responsibilities, the division assists municipalities affected by disasters by sending humanitarian aid materials, providing technical support during the process of declaring a State of Emergency or State of Public Calamity, and supplying resources for the restoration of essential services. He coordinated humanitarian logistics efforts during the São Sebastião disaster (2023) and also provided support to other states, such as Rio Grande do Sul and Bahia.

Natural Disaster Management: National and International Case Studies

The frequency and intensity of natural disasters have been increasing globally, driven by climate change and urban expansion. Effective management of these events requires integration of urban planning, public policies, technology, science, and community engagement, aiming to reduce risks, save lives, and protect critical infrastructure. This panel will present local and international experiences in disaster management, addressing prevention, monitoring, response, and recovery strategies.
