Gabriela Celani is an architect with a master's degree from FAU-USP and a PhD from MIT. She established the Laboratory of Automation and Prototyping for Architecture and Construction (LAPAC) and the Center for Studies on Urbanization for Knowledge and Innovation (CEUCI) at the State University of Campinas (Unicamp). Since 2017, she has been a full professor at Unicamp, conducting research in the areas of architectural and urban design and technology. She served as an advisor to the Provost of Undergraduate Studies and the Rector, was Project Director for the Exploratory Science Museum, and coordinated the Physical-Spatial component of the International Hub for Sustainable Development (HIDS) project. At the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP), she coordinated the Architecture, Urbanism, and Design area. She has also served as a funded visiting researcher/professor at the Technical University of Lisbon, the National University of the Litoral, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, MIT, the University of Malaga, and the University of Valencia. She has coordinated national and international projects funded by FAPESP, CAPES, FAEPEX, and CNPq. She was vice-president of SIGraDi and president of CAAD Futures. She is a member of the Sustainability Advisory Committee at Unicamp and a fellow of the São Paulo Innovation District.
