Julie Messias e Silva is a specialist in climate governance, conservation, and public policies for sustainable development in the Amazon. She served as Secretary of the Environment for the State of Acre and as National Secretary of Biodiversity at the Ministry of the Environment, where she headed the Brazilian delegation at the Biodiversity COP that established the Kunming-Montreal Global Goals and actively coordinated and participated in Brazil's negotiations at the Climate COPs. She is currently the Executive Director of the Brazil NBS (Nature-Based Solutions) Alliance, which brings together companies responsible for over 70% of the country's forest-based carbon credits. With over 15 years of experience, Julie has a recognized track record in formulating socio-environmental policies, climate finance, biodiversity conservation, and promoting nature-based solutions, leading initiatives with governments, the private sector, and international cooperation.
