Rafael Ceconello

Rafael Ceconello is the Director of Government and Regulatory Affairs at Toyota do Brasil, leading strategic initiatives focused on decarbonization and sustainable energy transition, with an emphasis on biofuels and flex-hybrid technologies as key pillars for low-carbon mobility. In this role, he is responsible for shaping public and regulatory policies that drive innovation and sustainability in the automotive sector. With over two decades of experience in financial, legal, and strategic matters, Ceconello has built a solid career within Toyota, where he has also served on the fiscal council of Fundação Toyota do Brasil and held the position of General Manager of Tax Planning. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social and Legal Sciences from the Law School of São Bernardo do Campo, a postgraduate degree in Tax Law from PUC-SP, and an executive specialization from SDA Bocconi School of Management in Milan.

With its strong agricultural and industrial base—particularly in the sugar-energy sector—the State of São Paulo is strategically positioned to lead the production, innovation, and commercialization of second- and third-generation biofuels.
