Biotechnological Installations and Immersive Experiences Anticipate the Future at a Pre-COP30 Event in Villa-Lobos Park
São Paulo, October 30, 2025 – A tree that visually breathes, a digital mirror that transforms people into living forests, and an app that measures the public’s environmental happiness. These are some of the experiences that the public will be able to enjoy on November 4th and 5th, during the Agenda SP+Verde Summit, a preparatory event of the São Paulo State Government for COP30, which will take place in 2025 in Belém (PA).
The event, held in Villa-Lobos Park, brings together science, technology, and creativity in one space, proposing an immersion in the most innovative sustainable solutions. One of the highlights is the “Digital Forest,” a 200 m² area that invites visitors to discover how innovation can regenerate the planet and inspire new ways of living with the environment.
Among the attractions, the Breathing Tree, by Live Tree, draws attention for its integration of biotechnology and art: the installation absorbs carbon dioxide (CO₂) and releases oxygen, simulating the metabolism of a real tree. In real time, sensors display data on air quality and humidity, encouraging the public to reflect on the role of science in restoring climate balance.
In the Instagrammable Space of the Institute for Technological Research (IPT), the visitor is part of the experience: cameras and artificial intelligence transform human movements into living images of the forest, in a symbolic representation of the connection between technology and nature.
Another highlight is the Happiness Meter, developed by the startup Filter, which will monitor the well-being of visitors based on mood and environmental perception data — a creative way to measure the emotional impact of sustainable experiences.
In addition to the technological activations, the Summit will bring together panels and debates with researchers, entrepreneurs, and innovation experts, discussing topics such as energy transition, regenerative technologies, climate change, and the future of cities.
The Digital Forest is curated by the Secretariat of Science, Technology and Innovation (SCTI), which brings to the event projects and solutions developed in partnership with institutions and startups linked to the department. The Institute for Technological Research (IPT), Inova SP, and other entities present initiatives that show how scientific research and applied innovation can generate direct benefits for society and the environment.
“The Summit is a space to show how applied science can generate real transformations, connecting knowledge, creativity, and purpose,” highlights Vahan Agopyan, Secretary of Science, Technology and Innovation.
About the Event
The SP+Verde Agenda Summit is a pre-COP event organized by the Government of São Paulo, the City of São Paulo, and USP (University of São Paulo). Discussions are structured around four thematic areas: Green Finance; Resilience and the Future of Cities; Climate Justice and Sociobiodiversity; and Energy Transition and Decarbonization. A circular economy track will run through all stages and extend to the Circularity Hub, offering experiences, workshops, and workshops curated by the Circular Movement. In the innovation area, universities, institutes, and technology districts will discuss the role of research and technology in São Paulo’s climate transformation. On the main stage, the green economy will be the focus of the debate, with the presence of political leaders and special guests. An international business round will bring together approximately 70 companies from eight countries.
Beyond the debates, the Summit Agenda SP + Verde offers practical and cultural experiences: 20 workshops on sustainable gastronomy and circularity, artistic presentations by the OSESP choir and Baccarelli, an indigenous choir, shows by Zizi Possi, Grupo Street Dance and Baile do Simonal. Guided tours of green economy and sustainable tourism case studies are also available. The diverse and inclusive program promotes connection, integration and engagement, consolidating São Paulo as an international reference in green economy and sustainability.
The Summit Agenda SP+Verde is the result of a broad mobilization for sustainable development, sponsored by Cosan, Comgas, Edge, Rumo, Sabesp, Itaú, Amazon, Votorantim Cimentos, EcoUrbis, Solvi, Loga, Motiva, EDP, Veolia, CPFL Energia, Metrô, Stellantis, Ecovias, Toyota, JHSF, Tetra Pak, Aena Scania, AstraZeneca, Weq and Bracell; and institutional support from Fiesp, Senai, Única, Aesabesp, Abrainc, Secovi-SP, Associação Comercial de São Paulo, Pateo 76, Abiogás, SP Águas, Cetesb, DER-SP, Fundação Florestal, Arsesp, SPtrans, Prefeitura de Campinas, B3, The Nature Conservancy, Cebds, Pacto Global, SOS Mata Atlântica, Movimento Circular, União BR, Circular Brain, CET-SP, Dia da Terra, Instituto de Conservação Costeira, Inovaclima, IPT, Zeros, Ideia Sustentável, Kearney, Instituto Baccarelli, Zero Summit, Parque Villa-Lobos, NEOOH, Global Renewables Alliance (GRA) and Research Centre for Greenhouse Gas Innovation (RCGI).
