Cristiane Borda

An Architect and Urban Planner who graduated from UFMG, she has over 15 years of experience in urban-environmental planning and management. She holds a specialization in environment and sanitation and a Master's degree in Urbanism, where she researched public policies for sustainable stormwater management. As a consultant, she developed and coordinated studies, plans, and projects with companies, public bodies, and international organizations to promote sustainable urban development and climate change mitigation in Brazil. She served as a Senior Technical Advisor for GIZ for the global C40 Cities Finance Facility project, supporting the Salvador City Government from 2022 to 2025. She is currently the Heat and Health Project Manager at C40 Cities. She has also been a professor in the Postgraduate course in Landscape Architecture at PUC Minas since 2021.

Territories in Transition: The Role of Municipalities in Climate Resilience

This panel examines how cities and their territories can reinvent themselves in the face of climate impacts, transforming vulnerabilities into opportunities. Pathways to strengthen local policies, integrate communities, and foster innovative solutions in urban planning, infrastructure, and environmental management will be debated. The challenge of financing and the step-by-step process for building partnerships will also be addressed. The session seeks to demonstrate how municipal action can be decisive for building climate resilience.
