São Paulo is a national and international benchmark for adopting a concession contract model in the sanitation sector that, in much of the state, accelerated the universalization of sanitation by three years relative to the deadline stipulated by the Legal Framework. The panel will discuss this model and the state's challenges on the path toward universalization, considering all municipalities in São Paulo. It will address the role of the state, municipal administrations, and the private sector in this journey, the necessary investments, and the regulatory and infrastructural challenges.

These are four projects from companies or entities in the focus areas of energy transition, ecological restoration, circularity, and sustainable mobility, which placed first in the Award's first phase and were submitted to popular voting throughout the month of October. The award aims to incentivize innovative solutions for decarbonization. The 'An eye on COP 30' Award, promoted by the São Paulo Municipal Secretariat of Education, which sponsored pedagogical actions in municipal schools, will also be presented.
Cosan presents: Green Economy Stage 10:15 - 11:45Alliance for the Atlantic Forest: Water Security, Climate, People, and Development in the Medium Tietê and Paraíba do Sul Basins
The SOS Mata Atlântica Foundation is launching the Alliance for the Atlantic Forest, a coalition of companies committed to the conservation and restoration of the biome, especially in the Medium Tietê and Paraíba do Sul river basins, at a pre-COP30 event. These territories concentrate the contemporary challenges for providing essential ecosystem services for the society’s multiple uses — cities, industry, and agribusiness. In total, they cover more than 5 million hectares, 170 municipalities, and 12 million inhabitants, with a restoration potential of over 300 thousand hectares of Permanent Preservation Areas (APP). These regions are strategic for carbon sequestration, nature-based solutions, and the strengthening of the Brazilian economy.
