Samuel Barrêto

Samuel Barrêto is a biologist with a specialization in Limnology from UNESP in Botucatu and holds a master's degree in Sustainability from FIA, an institution affiliated with FEA-USP. He serves as the Director of Water and Food Systems at TNC Brasil, where he leads strategic initiatives for water and food security in the country. He is a member of global and national networks, such as the Movimento + Água (More Water Movement) of the Brazilian Network of the UN Global Compact, the Water Resilience Coalition, and the Water Governance Observatory (OGA). He coordinates the Technical Chamber for the Integration of Environmental, Territorial, and Sanitation Management of the National Water Resources Council, contributing to the strengthening of governance and public policy for water resources in Brazil. He is a columnist for the Um Só Planeta (One Planet) platform, where he shares reflections and proposals on sustainability, climate, and water.
