Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) and Bioenergy with Carbon Capture and Storage (BECCS) are emerging as strategic technologies to achieve net-negative emissions and enable global climate neutrality commitments. Alongside the expansion of renewable energy, these solutions can play a decisive role in decarbonizing hard-to-abate sectors and enhancing the value of natural assets. This panel will explore how São Paulo—with its diversified industrial base, strong bioenergy sector, and history of innovation—can position itself as a hub for the development and implementation of these technologies.
